I met Anohni in the early 90s. My friend Bob Nozawa called me early in the morning like 5am. Bob was working night shift at Yaffa Cafe in the East Village, NYC. He told me that he wanted to introduce me to this very interesting person from England. That was Anohni. She was also working at Yaffa. She was like an idea machine and crazy excited to be in NYC. And she started doing everything. Jennifer Honky Tits (her first punk band, I made an outfit for her), Black Lips theatre to Anohni and Johnsons. I am so grateful for being on the earth with such a beautiful human being.
